Specific Bursaries & Scholarships (for selected post-secondary programs)

Applicants are asked to include a copy of their letter of acceptance from a post-secondary institution with their application package. If the applicant has not yet received an answer at the time of submission, he/she has to send it by e-mail to the CVR Ed Foundation when received (or bring a copy to the main office as soon as you receive it). Bursaries and Scholarships will not be awarded without acceptance in the required program in a post-secondary institution. Click here to upload and send your document.

Each of the following bursaries and scholarships require an application and have specific requirements. Click on the name to read about the history, criteria and application procedures of each bursary or scholarship. Please note that the amounts may vary slightly from year to year.

If you are pursuing your post-secondary education in :       (please read all criteria carefully)

AGRICULTURE : 

La Coopérative Uniag Bursary $300 bursary awarded to a graduating student pursuing Vocational or College level education in Agriculture (Beauharnois Vocational Centre, Kemptville College, St-Hyacinthe or Macdonald College of McGill University).  

Finlayson Scholarship  (MacDonald College ONLY) Up to two $1,000 scholarships awarded to graduating students pursuing post-secondary studies in a Science program at Macdonald College of McGill University.

The LBA Scholarship : One scholarship of 500 $ is awarded to a student pursuing his/her education in an AGRICULTURE-related program. Please consult the criteria and prepare your application.

Osman Family Memorial Bursary : One 625 $ bursary is awarded to a student who maintained an 80 % throughout grades 10 and 11 pursuing his/her studies in an AGRICULTURE PROGRAM, aiming at any related sustainable agriculture career path.

Warren Grapes Agriculture Bursary :  $500 awarded to a graduating student pursuing his/her education in Agriculture (Vocational or College level program).

 

ARTS, LITTERATURE, COMMUNICATION (ALC) 

Suzelle Barrington Scholarship :  Up to 4 scholarships of $1,250 awarded to  graduating students pursuing post-secondary studies in a two year pre-university program in Social Science and Arts, Litterature & Communications program (ALC)

 

ART, THEATER, MUSIC

Marian Anderson Memorial Bursary : 2 bursaries of 500 $ available for students who are pursuing post-secondary education in a program related to music, art, dance and/or theater.  The student has kept an overall average of 75% and over in grade 11, is passionate and dedicated about music, drama or any other art.

AVIATION / AEROSPACE / TRANSPORTATION

The Lajeunesse Bursary:  1 bursary of 500 $ available for students who are pursuing post-secondary education in a program related to aviation, aerospace, aircraft maintenance, pilot, air traffic control, etc. The student has a clear goal of becoming part of the aviation industry at large.  Students pursuing their education in any other transportation field is invited to apply as well.

 

BUSINESS / COMMERCE : 

Ronald & Iona Maither Memorial Bursary : Two $500 bursaries awarded to a graduating student pursuing a two year pre-university program in Commerce/Business or a 3 year Cegep Career program in business

Brian Millar Memorial Scholarship : $1,000 scholarship awarded to a graduating student pursuing a two year pre-university program in Commerce, leading to a B.SC or B.Com; or a three year Cégep career program in business.

 

EDUCATION : 

The Lara Drummond Foundation Scholarship :  Two 10000 $ (over 6 years) scholarships for students aiming at a career in education. Students must be pursuing a two-year pre-university program with the aim of entering the faculty of education in university to obtain a B.Ed

Bea & Charlie Tully Memorial Bursary Two bursaries of $500 awarded to graduating students  pursuing a two year pre-university program leading to Education.

 

HEALTH CARE 

Dr. Kevin P. Brissette Memorial Bursary : $1,000 bursary awarded to a graduating student pursuing post-secondary studies in a two year pre-university program in Science with the aim of entering medicine or any other health related program in university. Three year health related CEGEP career programs also accepted. Animal health not eligible.

Ruth Graham Petch Memorial Scholarship : One $ 500 scholarship is awarded to a student pursing a career as a registered nurse (RN).  If you are pursuing your education in the 3-year nursing program in CEGEP or the 2-year pre-university Health Science or Science program leading to a B.Sc in Nursing at the university level, you are invited to apply for this scholarship.  You must maintain an 80% average during your 1st semester of CEGEP to qualify to receive the 2nd instalment.

Sharon de Gaspé Power & Gilbert Pommepuy Medical Scholarship :  One 3000 $ (over 3 years) scholarship awarded to a graduating student pursuing post-secondary studies in a two-year pre-university science program with the aim of entering medicine or health science at the university level. An 80 % overall average is required at every semester to retain this scholarship

Osman Family Memorial Bursaries: One bursary of 625 $ is awarded to a student pursuing his/her education in health care, specifically PERSONAL HEALTH CARE AIDE or NURSING.  If no applicant is pursuing in the above mentioned programs, any health care program will be considered. *For a TRADES applicant, he/she must have maintained an average of 75% throughout grades 10 and 11  **For a CEGEP applicant, he/she must have maintained an average of 80 % throughout grades 10 and 11.

 

SCIENCE

Osman Family Memorial Bursary : ( same bursary as the one listed in the Social Science section) One 625 $ bursary is awarded to a student pursuing his/her education in the ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE Profile of the 2-year pre-university SCIENCE program who has maintained an 80 % average throughout grade 10 and 11.  If no applicant is pursuing in the environmental science profile, a student in any other profile of the 2-year pre-university science program will be considered. **A social science applicant will also be considered if their career goal is related to any mental health related profession

 

SCIENCE (to Veterinary Medicine) or ANIMAL HEALTH TECHNOLOGY:

HVO Scholarship : Two 750 $ scholarships awarded as followed : One scholarship to a graduating student pursuing post-secondary studies in a Science Program with the aim of entering Veterinary Medicine and one scholarship awarded to a student entering the Animal Health Technology Program at CEGEP.

 

SCIENCE or SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY :

Vernon A. Pope Memorial Bursary : $1,000 awarded to a graduating student pursuing post-secondary studies in a two year pre-university Science program or a three year Cégep career program in Science Technology.

 

SCIENCE or COMMERCE :

Dr. Wilfred & Mrs. Jean Watson Memorial Bursary : Three $1,000 bursaries awarded to graduating students pursuing a two year pre-university program in Science or Commerce, leading to a B.SC. or B.Com.

 

SCIENCE (Pure & Applied) or ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY :

Randaccio Family Memorial Scholarship : $10,000 (over 5 years) awarded to a graduating student pursuing a two year pre-university program in Pure & Applied Science or a three year Cégep career program in Engineering Technology, with the aim of entering Engineering (BEng) or Agricultural Science (BS).

 

SOCIAL SCIENCE :

Suzelle Barrington Scholarship :  Up to 4 scholarships of $1,250 awarded to  graduating students pursuing post-secondary studies in a two year pre-university program in Social Science.

TRADE OR VOCATIONAL PROGRAM :

Anthony Faubert Memorial Bursary : One bursary of 250 $ is awarded to a graduating student pursuing post-secondary studies in a CULINARY PROGRAM (at any vocational education facility, ITHQ or Ecole des métiers de la restauration et du tourisme de Montréal)

***NEW 2024 (updated 27/02/24)***    D.R. Ness Bursary : One bursary of 500 $ is awarded to a graduating student pursuing post-secondary studies in ANY TRADE (DEP) program

Pauline Lantz Smith Bursary : Two 500 $ bursaries awarded to graduating students pursuing post-secondary studies in ANY TRADE (DEP) program.

***NEW 2024 (updated 07/03/24)***    McClintock Enterprises Bursary : One bursary of 250 $ is awarded to a graduating student pursuing post-secondary studies in ANY TRADE (DEP) program

Taverne de la Ferme Bursary : One bursary of $500 awarded to a graduating student pursuing post-secondary studies in a CULINARY program (at any vocational education facility or ITHQ).  Please apply if you are thinking of pursuing your studies in any service related program at the ITHQ, Ecole de Tourisme de Montérégie or any other .  Your application will still be considered.

***NEW 2024 (updated 12/03/24)***  Opportunity Builders Bursary  : Two bursaries of $1000 awarded to: a) 1 student pursuing his/her education in ANY TRADE program and b) 1 student pursuing a 3 year CEGEP career program.  Applicants must be show community involvement in their letter of intent.  All students pursuing a program in a trade OR a 3 year CEGEP career program are invited to apply. 

Osman Family Memorial Bursary : One bursary of $625 awarded to a student pursuing his/her education in ANY TRADE program who has maintained a 75 % overall average in grades 10 and 11.

 

ANY 3 YEAR CEGEP CAREER PROGRAM : 

Arlie & Owen Ness Memorial Bursary : Three bursaries of $1,000 awarded to graduating students pursuing a 3 year CEGEP career program who are also show involvement in their community, whether it is by participating in extra-curricular activities at school, being part of a sports team (outside of school), being involved in an organization such as 4-H or any other activity.  Please describe your involvement and your future career plans in your letter of intent. 

***NEW 2024 (updated 12/03/24)***  Opportunity Builders Bursary  : Two bursaries of $1000 awarded to: a) 1 student pursuing a 3 year CEGEP career program and b)1 student pursuing his/her education in ANY TRADE program.  Applicants must be show community involvement in their letter of intent.  All students pursuing a program in a trade OR a 3 year CEGEP career program are invited to apply. 


The following bursaries and/or scholarships are available to students pursuing ANY post-secondary education.  Each of them have specific criteria so if you fit the criteria, you are invited to apply !

ANY POST-SECONDARY (must have participated in SPORTS read criteria carefully) :

Tony Evans Memorial Bursary for Academic and Athletic Excellence :  $1,000 bursary awarded to a graduating student pursuing post-secondary studies, who has maintained an overall average of 80% or more in grades 10 and 11, in their senior year participated in at least one CVRHS sport during every season (Fall, Winter and Spring), made an important contribution to their teams and is an excellent ambassador for CVR High School. 

ANY POST-SECONDARY

Donald Winter Memorial Scholarship : One $ 500 scholarship is given to a student who has faced life challenges but managed to excel academically through it all.  If you have kept an average of 80 % in grades 10 and 11, read the criteria of this scholarship and send your application.  *All information sent to the CVR Educational Foundation is, and will remain, strictly confidential.
